The “green” Kyoto

For much of its history, Kyoto was Japan.Kyoto is the place to go to see what Japan is all about. Here is where you’ll find all those things you associate with the Land of the Rising sun: ancient temples, colorful shrines, and sublime gardens.

“It is fair to stay that Kyoto ranks with Paris, London and Rome as one of those cities that everyone should see at least once in ther lives.”- Lonely Planet

What I love here? A lot of things – Arashiyama with the Bamboo grove,Uji, Tenryu-ji Zen Temple/Garden and the Golden Pavillion.

Arashiyama’s Bamboo Grove
– Western Kyoto is home to one of the most magical places in all of Japan: the famed bamboo grove in Arashiyama. The visual effect of the seemingly infinite stalks of bamboo is quite different from any forest we’ve ever encountered-there’s palpable presence to the place that is utterly impossible to capture in pictures.
